Hello,
Is it possible to configure Workspace multi-homing with the Log Analytics VM Extension? The JSON schema doesn't show whether that is possible.
When MMA multi-homing was announced in 2016, it was mentioned in the below blog post by @satyavel that "The Azure virtual machine (VM) extensions will be updated with this new capability in June."

@satyavel @MGoedtel Can either of you please share your insights on this customer's question? Thanks.
@roiyz-msft @satyavel @MGoedtel Can you please take a look and share if you have any insights on the roadmap for this one?
@Karishma-Tiwari-MSFT @tFable - I'm investigating this now with the PM for the agent and will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
@MGoedtel Thank you for helping out. Did you hear back from the product team?
@Karishma-Tiwari-MSFT @tFable - I've talked with the PM and needed to confirm something. I've pinged him again and am waiting for a response.
Hello @MGoedtel
Is there an update on this?
Thanks,
t
I would also very much like to know how to accomplish this within a JSON template. As a CSP we are in desperate need of this functionality.
Thanks in advance.
@alexcastrus I received confirmation through a support ticket that the OMS IaaS extension does not support multi-homing. It is not currently possible to configure the IaaS OMS Extension with two workspaces. The support rep said that there is no indication that this feature is on the roadmap.
@tFable, @alexcastrus, @Karishma-Tiwari-MSFT - I just came back from vacation, so apologies for not getting back sooner. I can also confirm that ARM does not support configuring the Log Analytics VM Extension for Windows with more than one workspace. #please-close since this isn't a doc issue. ARM today only accepts referencing a single workspace.
We will now close this issue. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please reopen it and we will gladly continue the discussion.
Hello, I would like to ask, if I understand it correctly.
Even so, that MMA agent (MS windows) is capable to join multiple workspaces, powershell cmd-let Set-AzureRmVMExtension is unable to configure that MMA agent correctly?
Thanks for info

Hello @mchmelaroriflame
According to my engagement with Microsoft a couple of months ago, your statement is correct. The MMA Azure Extension cannot configure or read the status of multiple Log Analytics Workspaces.
Thanks,
