I converted some existing virtual machines to standard SSD disks but the backup is not working anymore. I got a message saying "The storage type is not supported by Azure backup." Although you mentioned backups will continue to work after the migration!

@roygara This article says "In the coming weeks, we will enable services like Backup/ASR for Standard SSD disks."
I know that Standard SSD is GA as per today's announcements. Can you please share/confirm if Backup service is also enabled for Standard SSD?
I just tried to take a backup and still same error.
Same thing here. I have a vm with a standard ssd, and I get this error.

I would not have chosen a standard ssd had I known backup wouldn't work for it. When will it be supported? Thx.
@Karishma-Tiwari-MSFT @johnwest80 @anas1986
I made some inquiries, looks like Azure Backup support is actually in the process of rolling out. I'm told it will be available by next week.
Thanks for your patience, we apologize for the miscommunication.
@roygara Thank you for sharing the information. Appreciate your quick response.
Assigning it to you for updating the FAQ as discussed offline. Thanks.
I've gone ahead and updated the FAQ. It now currently reflects the state of the product.
Do we know when this will be ready?
@johnwest80 I inquired again, was told by the end of this week it should be rolled out. We'll update the FAQ when it's actually released, though.
Any updated prospects?
@raptor75 @johnwest80 yup, this is currently rolling out region by region, I'm lead to believe it will be in all regions by the end of the week. I unfortunately don't know what regions its currently available in.
Keep in mind, you have to Upgrade to Azure VM Backup stack V2 to get Azure Backup support for the Standard SSD backups.
