Azure-docs: Deployment slots

Created on 6 Sep 2018  Â·  10Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

The sentence "Function Apps doesn't yet support deployment slots." is incorrect, in that deployment slots are indeed available (in preview). Based on comments in GitHub issues however it seems that the support for deployment slots may be going away (ref: https://github.com/Azure/azure-functions-core-tools/issues/227#issuecomment-385532310), so it's possible that sentence should just be removed then.

@mike-urnun-msft I wonder why the functions/svc label got added back?

Thanks for the feedback! I have assigned the issue to the content author to investigate further and update the document as appropriate.

Any chance we can update this article? Looks like this feedback was given several months ago and I've noticed even the screenshots are out of date from what the experience is like today.

Thanks @IGx89 and @jasonshave, we are tracking this out-of-date article internally (#1158047). @jeffhollan for your recommendation about deployment slots (which I believe are only supported for App Service plans today).

@dariagrigoriu what is the best way to clarify this issue (deployment slots support) at this point?

@MicahMcKittrick-MSFT or @mike-urnun-msft can you please change the service label to azure-functions/svc? Thanks!

Please assign to @craigshoemaker.

What is the status of Azure Function Apps slots?

When will it be go to production?

Where is the official doucumentation?

The only one I can find is below
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/deploy-staging-slots

@PingPongSet we can't make any statements about future releases, but note that we do now have some slots-related information in the deployment article.

This verbiage was removed from the article.
