Azure-docs: Develop a Custom Control

Created on 5 Sep 2018  Â·  8Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

I understand that the custom control is not open for general development. I am working at a leading security company, how can we become a custom control provider?

Hi,
just out of curiosity, why do you "need a process" for on-boarding new custom control providers?

It is just an OpenID federation, if the tenant wants to delegate the authentication to an external identity provider, they should be free to do so. The is no need for MS to do anything per provider.

Could you please guide me how to develop new custom control?

@csdevgithub Currently we have put a hold on this program . However if you already are using any existing MFA provider currently listed on the page , you can use the section create a custom control . to work with any of the listed providers.

In order to develop custom control you require to have an existing MFA service running which you can integrate with Azure . If by "develop new custom control" you meant how to create/develop the complete MFA backend , we may not be able to help you on that as its out of scope of our support.

If you are a MFA provider service and would like to be listed in this page there is a different process to it. Earlier you could send an email to us on azcommuninty[at]microsoft[dot]com. But currently we have a wait-list of many partners with whom we are working and we will take new requests later. Currently an ETA on the same can not be provided. It will be updated on this page itself whenever that happens. Alternatively you can vote for one of the following features as you see fit and the product team will prioritize this accordingly as they keep reviewing the feedback and action them accordingly .

Hope that helps.

Our customers use our product for MFA. Now they want to move to Azure but they are stuck, as we cannot support Azure Custom Control.
Azure should just delegate the tenant authentication to an OpenID or SAML external Idp.
