Hi,
Want to enable limited ref for my project.
However the article doesn't cover the "how to setup limited ref".
Can you please provide steps.

@HuzefaShabbir Did you manage to find how it's set up?
@steved0x Is there any response from the author?
I'm also curious about this and what versions it is supported in.
For those who wish to experiment and live dangerously, I give you "[dbo].[prc_UpdateGitLimitedRefCriteria]". It looks like there is more to enabling than just setting up data in there though. That appears to be the "important" list but just adding things to that table did not result in filtering being turned on, so there must be some additional setting somewhere that makes it look at this.
Finally had enough time poking around to figure it out:

@HuzefaShabbir See above
An important thing to note when using limited refs. It can result in large fetches when a previously limited ref is joined to a ref that people do have links to. This can be hard to diagnose at first glance. We had a situation occur with an old limited ref that we rarely used. We reused it for another purpose using an "ours" merge and that joined a substantial part of limited tree in to the main tree and resulted in large fetches when it was pushed back. Be sure to exercise caution when a large branch is limited and gets merged.
