Assuming I had implemented restrictions such as those described, how can I inspect a repository to review these restrictions?

@davidsk You can use the tf git permission command to view the permissions, from that page, here is an example of viewing permissions for a repo. Maybe I should update that topic and include an example of reviewing the permissions once you have set them, would that be helpful?
That would be very helpful, thanks!
Maybe I'm missing something but how can I see the branch folders that I've specified? I can see that [TeamProject]Contributors has the CreateBranch permission but not that I've restricted it to features/ and users/.

It looks like you're working through an issue with the product itself, rather than an issue with the documentation. Here are a few options where you might consider asking your question:
@davidsk, @steved0x
Did you ever figure out a way to view what restrictions are set? All I'm seeing is the generic CreateBranch permission, not actual folder restrictions.
I didn't, no, and I don't have access to the repository that I was working with when I raised the issue. The docs, however, seem to have been updated - did you try using the tf git permission command
