It would be nice to have a node.js sdk similar to the java sdk.

It looks like this issue is 2 years old now. Has there been any update on it?

@LiuJoyceC

Looking at the latest SDK docs, I noticed this:

"After your data is encrypted, DynamoDB handles decryption of your data transparently with minimal impact on performance. You don't need to modify your applications to use encryption."
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amazondynamodb/latest/developerguide/EncryptionAtRest.html

Should this issue be closed?

@aneilbaboo

Thanks for following up on this issue.

You're correct, DynamoDB does offer its own encryption transparently now.

One difference would be that the Java Client offers encryption during transit. Some customers may need that in addition to encryption at rest.

We can hold this Feature Request open for now as a place for that discussion.

is there any update on this? Thanks! :)

Hi @Budincsevity, my latest updates in https://github.com/aws/aws-dynamodb-encryption-java/issues/18 are still accurate.
