3. Enable the new JavaScript debugger that we use for debugging Blazor also for standard ASP.NET projects by going to Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> General -> “Enable using the multi-target JavaScript debugger…”
4. Start debugging the project with F5 and confirm whether everything works and the breakpoint is hit
5. If something doesn't work, please send us the logs at C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\vscode-chrome-debug.txt again

While we're all sorta stuck at the moment, this workaround works for me:

Remove the line:
"launchBrowser": true
from the profile you use in your launchSettings.json file for your server.

You should be able to start the profile with the debugger and then run your browser independently.
Breakpoints and such in the server code should now work.

This indicates that we're attempting to resolve the packages from the development feed which only includes the DebugProxy.

I then run my blazor server (with the blazor-debugproxysettings.json debug file in the server project forlder ) but don't see any debug info. I must be missing something but don't know what. :(

If it still fails, it might be the case that the middleware that is responsible for launching the debug proxy and starting the logging is not hit.

@captainsafia I was able to create a new Blazor app (A Blazor WebAssembly App with the ASP.NET Core Hosted option checked) that is like my project that I am having issues with. In this new project, I can successfully run and the debugger attaches successfully.

I am suspecting the issue I am seeing is more akin to #22028

Another little tidbit of information for what it's worth: On the new project that works, if I start debugging it and then quickly close the browser window while the webassembly is still loading, I get the exact same error message (whether or not this is relevant, I can't say):

Corporate proxy issue for me, adding No_Proxy localhost to environment variables worked fine. So did adding the environment variable to the debug section of the server project.

I am having the same issues. Blazor WASM apps are not debugable. I am using the latest builds of both preview and release and I see the same issue in both. I am WFH and this is a personal machine that is not part of a domain and there is no proxy server involved.

The follwing is also included in Client Main.

I am sorry for the belated response - project delivery demands.

It seems that the release version 16.6.4 is no longer experiencing the debugging issue, although it does take a very long time for the debugger to hook. Sometimes it is more than ten seconds.

The debugger in 16.7.0 will not hook at all. I will try tomorrow to get the log and upload it.

By the way, with 16.6.4, I was unable to debug in Edge beta or Chrome. That was, until I tried Firefox. With both Edge and Chrome, all I saw was "Loading...". In Firefox, I immediately received a security error. Clicking on "Avanced" and then accepting the risk allowed me to debug in Firefox. Once I had accepted that security risk, it seems that I was able to use the other browsers for debugging.

What you're describing here appears to indicate that development certificates are not trusted on your machine which is a common cause of issues.
