Arfoundation-samples: AR Camera and Video Player

Created on 22 Jun 2018  Â·  11Comments  Â·  Source: Unity-Technologies/arfoundation-samples

I tried out AR Foundation a little by placing a plane with a video player in the SampleScene.
It worked as expected on iOS, but on Android I faced a problem:

The video gets rendered through the camera feed, as seen in this video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/05zsjpsx8fzm925/Screen%20recording%20AR%20Foundation.mp4?dl=0

I'm using Unity version 2018.1.5f1.

fixed

This has been fixed in the latest ARCore package: 1.0.0-preview.19. I've updated this samples repo to point to that version. Let me know if you continue to see any issues with the video player.

Same issue for me on 2018.1.5f1 with android. I tried different materials but the result is the same.

It appears to happen directly on the video texture coming from ARCore.

Trying to render the background image to a new texture only when a new frame is available has the same result.

Any update on this?

@nilsk123 See the bug report. And please vote! 😄

Same here. :( We really need this fixed!

Please fix or tell us about a workaround.

It doesn't seem to fix the problem for me. Used 2018.3.0b2 and 2018.3.0b4 with equally unsuccessful results. There is a constant fight between camera feed and the video players (there are 3 of them at the scene). The problem normally stops as soon the videos end.

for me it did work on 2018.1 .... so don't know what to tell you..
