  • [X] I read the list above.
  • [X] I read the README.
  • [X] I checked if my issue isn't duplicated.
  • Distribution: Fedora 24
  • Desktop environment: Xfce
  • GTK+ 3 version: 3.20.6
  • Arc version (commit): 894573ec7564

The text for icons on the desktop is misaligned with the shadow. Switching to another theme, such as adwaita or greybird solves the problem.

Arc:
xfce_shadow

Greybird:
xfce_greybird

606 is a proposed fix for this.

Thanks. This patch does not seem to solve the problem for me though, unfortunately :-(

You might need to log out and back in again for the themes to update.

Sorry, packaging with packaging. I fixed that and yes, it solves the problem for me. I didn't notice any other side effects, either. Thanks!

Confirmed as an issue here on Linux Lite. Have patched this for our users.

With Xfce, I've noticed though that the patch from #606 appears to just disable the desktop text shadow entirely instead of fixing its positioning. So the text becomes completely white, which is slightly hard to read with a light wallpaper.

There's some more background about this issue on the Launchpad bug.

I haven't tested but I assume this affect the Vertex theme too.

@GLolol you're right, it is not a proper fix. Since it is an issue for a lot of themes, as described in the Launchpad bug linked form @jbicha , I suppose we should wait for updates from the murrine engine. Until then we'll have to downgrade or use #606 temporarily.

Okay, I borrowed a fix from Greybird. The shadows aren't drawn by the murrine engine anymore, so it should be fixed now.

Fix looks good here @horst3180 Thank you.

@horst3180 Nice work. I think this bug affects Vertex too.

Hi, still having this problem using arc-theme and arc-theme-git packages in OpenSuse repository (Debian packages)
