Appcenter: iOS:Track Error

Created on 21 Jan 2020  路  9Comments  路  Source: microsoft/appcenter

I would to know if it's possible to track errors using handled exceptions implementation with iOS

I know this feature currently exist on android when you call Crashes.trackError(...) methods, that perfectly implement the latter.

I would like to know if this feature already exist for iOS?
and how to use it?
if not how can one go about implementing it?

Thanks

Could you make this API available to us?

I would welcome this feature as well.
I once found + (NSString *)trackModelException:withProperties:withAttachments: in MSWrapperCrashesHelper but was unable to use it

+1, would be quite useful

@skhye05 Thanks for the feature request :)

@rist The API you found is undocumented. It's used by our wrapper SDKs (Xamarin and Unity) but doesn't do anything if used from the Apple SDK itself.

Could you make this API available to us?

I believe this is a duplicate of https://github.com/microsoft/appcenter/issues/192.

Not a duplicate as Android, apparently, has this feature, while iOS/macOS is still waiting.

Also, Fabrics Crashlytics is coming to an end soon (end of March) and Firebase Crashlytics doesn't support macOS and probably won't for quite some time. So this would be a great opportunity for AppCenter to allow this feature so that transition to AppCenter can be flawless (I know this ticket is for iOS, but you get the point).

Hey @Kalzem - thanks so much for the feedback. I wish I had a better answer for you but I don't have an ETA at the moment. I will post here when I have updates.

Thanks!

Hi @winnie . We at Nestl茅 IT are being requested by markets for feedback on this feature availability. Is there any approximate ETA for that? Even if it's a Quarter or month plan can be useful for giving proper feedback to them.

Thanks and Best!
