Antennapod: Feature request: tags for podcasts and episodes

Having a lot of podcasts is difficult to manage in AntennaPod.

Adding tags to podcasts would allow searching podcasts and episodes by tag, and create virtual playlists by tag. A tag assigned to a podcast would assign this tag to all its episodes.

Also it would be nice to add tags to unique episodes. Favourites feature could be implemented using an episode "favorite" tag.

Tagging is so useful, it should be implemented anywhere :-) However, it's probably as complex as this.

This would be awesome and if combined with multiple queues it would make my use case possible:

I want to be able to play from one queue on my way to work (programming related podcasts) and another queue in my way home (comedy, news and other kind of podcasts). Would help me get my head in the right state throughout the day.

That's exactly the kind of feature that I'm looking for.
I'd like to:

• Mark (with a star or a heart) my favorite podcasts, so they would show up on the top of the tile list
• Mark (with a star or a heart) my favorite episodes when listening to them (and they would not be deleted when ended, even if the "keep past episodes" is not selected in the settings)
• Add some tags for the same reasons mentions above (virtual playlists, sorting), both for podcasts and episodes

This is already possible. It's called favorites and can be toggled by pressing the star icon.

There is a separate list of favorite episodes. Keeping them on top is not currently implemented.

Thanks, I tried to look at this function but haven't found it before asking here. I found the star, but only when the episode is playing and its display maximized. Otherwise I don't see any star button when looking at episodes (for instance when browsing the episodes of a podcast, would be cool to have a star button close to Download and Play online)
It would be convenient to see the star icon on the tiles of the starred episodes.

Yes, but I was talking about the podcasts and not the episodes. I don't know what is the name of the menu in English. In my French version it's "abonnements" which means "subscription" (third entry in the left main menu), where you can see all the tiles.
I would find convenient to be able to "star" some of my favorite podcasts, and see them at the top of the tiling.

This would clutter the UI even more. You can already long-press episodes and press "Add to favourites" in the feed view.

This was the first that proposed tags for podcasts, but a much bigger discussion (around the same use cases) is going on in #1711. I don't see in this thread a use-case for per-episode tags (apart from favourites, which is available already). So I think it's safe to close this.

Please comment if you feel this should be reopened, though.
