Downloading podcast data notification appears unexpectedly. Nothing is actually being downloaded as far as I can tell. It cannot be swiped away. Sometimes the notification goes away, especially if I restart my phone, but it always comes back.
First occurred: (e.g. about x days/weeks ago)
About 3/4 days ago
Environment:
I have a couple podcasts on auto-download. Most of my podcasts have 'Keep Updated' disabled.
I have this bug too, Pixel 4XL.
I think it only appeared after Android 11 was installed, does that sound correct to you @CompmanJX3 ?
Happy to provide any logs that might be useful.
That could definitely be, I did upgrade in the last week. My Antenna pod icon also changed recently. Not sure if that was because of AntennaPod 2.0 or Android 11.
The new icon was Antenna Pod 2.0.
That's the thing, it's hard to tell if it was 2.0 or Android 11 - they both arrived within a short space of each other.
I am experiencing this as well. Android 11 with AntennaPod 2.0.
Same here.

Thanks everyone. Instead of chiming in with "Same here", it is better to leave a thumbs-up reaction on the first post. This makes it easier to follow the discussion.
In order to deal with this issue, we need logs. Could someone who is affected please export their logs (on AntennaPod's "report bug" screen 禄 "Export full logs") directly after the notification appears? The logs contain details about what podcasts you listen to and at what time you listen, so it is probably better to send them to info@<my username>.com instead of posting publicly.
I'd send my logs if Antenna exported them to a location I can get to using native apps.
The location is on the external storage ("sd card") that can be accessed with normal file managers.
@CompmanJX3 thanks for sending the logs. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be interesting information in that log. Maybe you (or someone else) could try sending it again if the notification appears the next time. (it should contain something about the DownloadService)
I have sent my log files.
I think I can reproduce the issue.... sometimes. 馃槃
When you press the refresh button in the queue the first time, the message does not disappear.
But if you press the refresh button the second time the message disappears.

Duplicate of #3899?
Thanks for posting your logs @Christian-Schulz and @CompmanJX3. They do not contain crashes that could directly lead to the cause, so I guess the problem is caused by some bad timing. In #4623, I added a bit more logging which should help to debug the problem. It will be released in 2.1.x
Attached two sets of logs from separate instances I noticed the download notification was stuck. AntennaPod version 2.1.0-RC2.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

I have the same issue also. Sometimes I can get the notification to go away by opening the app while connected to WiFi and hitting "reload". Sometimes I have to force close the app to make it go away. I can't get the notification to go away by swiping it off the screen, it refuses to allow itself to be swiped...
My environment:
Android version: 11
OS version: 4.9.223-g90fdcf28fd1c-ab6846391
AntennaPod version: 2.0.3
Model: Pixel 3a

No crash report recorded
Thanks @shortspider! Looks like this is in fact not a timing issue. The notification is not posted again after the service is stopped. So there is something wrong with removing the notification. I added another experiment (#4689) that will be released in the next beta version.
Hey @ByteHamster, still having this issue on RC3. Logs attached (happened this morning, look for Nov 23 logs). Let me know if you need anything else.
In my Pixel 4a 5g I have this issue with RC3 too. The notification gets stuck after downloading some podcasts. It can be remove by refreshing the feeds.
Hey @ByteHamster just looking to confirm that the logs I posted were from the right version that has the additional logging you mentioned above.
This bug in antennapod 2.03 occurs immediately after I upgraded to Android 11 and did not appear before I upgraded Android.
The save location of the logs flashes very quickly in the screen when saved and is difficult to see and remember.
Copy to clipboard produces the following:
Android version: 11
OS version: 4.9.223-g5bded8e40b62-ab6647920
AntennaPod version: 2.0.3
Model: Pixel 3a
Device: sargo
Product: sargo
No crash report recorded
Also worth mentioning that the logs are not accessible using Mixplorer or ES file explorer - no such folder exists. In ES explorer, /storage/emulated/0/Android/data is empty. In Mixplorer, /storage is empty. Phone is not rooted.
@protective1 I had that happen before and was able to copy to clipboard and then save in an email, you could try that?
@shortspider - I pasted the entire results of "copy to clipboard" in my post above.
@ByteHamster still having this issue in 2.1.1 (a7c6e697c). Logs are attached.

Thanks! Sorry, I currently don't have the time to look into it but I hope that I can work on it again in 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, if anyone else has an idea how to solve this, feel free to propose a pull request :)
I was with Android 11 / AntennaPod 1.8.3 for a few months without bugs.
Then I jumped a few days ago to AntennaPod 2.1.1 and this bug happened.
Workaround to dismiss the notification without force-quitting : manually refresh 1 feed.

@ByteHamster any pointers on where the cause of this could be?
