App version: 1.6.6-RC1 (from Google Play)
Android version: 9
Device model: Pixel
Expected behaviour: After pausing playback for any reason, the AntennaPod notification should persist until I dismiss it or turn off/restart the phone.
Current behaviour: The AntennaPod notification containing playback controls does not persist for long after pausing, either by hand, by disconnecting headphone jack or Bluetooth, or by phone call. Therefore, playback typically does not resume when I reconnect the headphone jack or Bluetooth, or after I finish a phone call.
First occured: Since last update (I think).
Steps to reproduce:
Environment: Problem occurs when playing through headphone jack and Bluetooth. Changing the media player does not appear to have an affect. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn't appear to help.
It's Android battery optimisation which is causing problem on Oreo.
For a workaround you can disable it in your phone settings. That's what I did to avoid notification to be dismissed.
I thought there was already a similar issue but I couldn't find it!
Thank you! Turning of battery optimization for AntennaPod in the Android settings did the trick.

This was happening to me, and it is very annoying. I remembered this thread so I went to turn off battery optimization for AntennaPod, but it was very tough to find. So I want to put the steps here for others (and for my future self, who will forget again).
This is on stock AT&T S7, running Oreo 8.0.0:
Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Battery Usage > Hamburger Button (3 dots) > Optimize Battery Usage > Pulldown > All Apps > de-select AntennaPod
Hello @ByteHamster,
I'm sorry to say that the notification still goes away after few minutes with the v1.7.3 RC2 on my Oreo 8.0 (Xperia X Performance) device.
The change is not yet included in RC2. I just uploaded RC3.

Thanks a lot, I'm testing the RC3 now. It seems ok but I'll let you know if the notification disappears.
Please, before the official release re-read the transifex translations (if it's not automatically done). I've improved the italian translation this afternoon.
Same here for french translation
