Antennapod: Password protected podcasts fail to stream

A password protected podcast won't play in AntennaPod current version 1.6.2.3, on two devices running Android 4.4.4 and 6.0.1.

The items of the feed load without a problem but when I tap the Stream button a message shows saying:
"Error / Unknown Error / OK"
and the playback doesn't start. (But downloading works.)

For example, the test site from #727:

What am I doing wrong?

@kibeb Can you upgrade to 1.8? I am able to stream using your auth info

This only works if the feed is protected but the media file itself is not protected. If the media file also is protected, it fails.

Same here with AntennaPod 1.8.1 (Beta channel) on Android 10: _downloading_ episodes protected with HTTP Basic Auth works fine (once the credentials have provided in the podcast settings), but trying to _stream_ them produces 401 errors on the server and no (additional) password dialog pops up.

To confirm, when media is protected, streaming won't work but downloading will. As confirmed with http://www.tools.bytehamster.com/podcast/pianoPasswordProtected.mp3
