Angular-google-maps: Feature Request: Implement Google Maps Symbols and Custom Controls

I'm not entirely sure if this is appropriate as an issue, but I have looked through the documentation but I couldn't find anything relating to these features. If they currently exist please let me know.

Here are my specific use-cases: I would like a control on the map which enables a modal that displays more information,and custom symbols to draw onto the polyline representing the route.

I would be willing to submit my own pull request but I have never been involved in contributing to open source before and would need some hand-holding to get started.

Part of this feature request seems to be custom overlays. I have just created a package for that.

For agm custom overlays please try my brand new package:
agm-overlays

Overlays are not the same as custom controls. Controls are stationary widgets which float on top of a map at absolute positions, as opposed to overlays, which move with the underlying map.
