Android: contact backup is not possible to do wifi-only

Created on 4 Oct 2017  路  7Comments  路  Source: nextcloud/android

Actual behaviour

Backup of contacts is done without taking into account if the device is on mobile or on wifi

Expected behaviour

The app should not upload the backup when the app is on mobile - it should be configurable

Steps to reproduce

  1. configure contacts backup
  2. go on mobile
  3. wait for contact backup to get triggered

Environment data

Android version: 7.1.1

Nextcloud app version: 2.0.0RC7

馃憤 to have this is line with auto upload it should

  • have "only on wifi"
  • have "only when charging"

This is a super small file? Does anybody really cares? :-/

It also exports the photos as base64 encoded jpg.
Depending on the number of contacts this can be bigger.
For instance I have 150Kb for 26 contacts.

It could be cool to have some sync options like syncthing Apps:
[] Only on wifi
[] Only some wifi network
[] Disable if battery-saving is actived

I second that.
In my case, it keeps trying and failing while on mobile data, since my nextcloud server is local only and not accessible via internet.

@rkivinurm same for me
