Al: Multi-part identifier *** could not be found / WebClient-Search

Created on 20 Apr 2019  Â·  14Comments  Â·  Source: microsoft/AL

Hi All,

With the 2019-Spring release an error is thrown when using the "Search" in the webclient.

image

Very similar to issue #4069 except this one triggers only on the "Search" function.

Specs:

  • Docker Image = microsoft/bcsandbox:be
  • platform 14.0.29530.31296
  • Application 31430 (BE Dynamics NAV 14.0)
=> Same for the W1 Application

Conditions:

  • Using the "Multi-Field" Search on a page
  • Using a search term that yields no search results (does work it their is any result)
  • Table behind page is extended
  • Fields from the extension(s) must be visible on the page

Debug Info:

When no search results are found, BC triggered an extra query "SELECT TOP 1 NULL FROM ....".
This query seems to be missing the JOIN statements to include the extension tables.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @waldo1001 ! We apologize for the delay in responding. We are working hard on fixing bugs, building new features, and optimizing existing ones. I will forward this to the client team, but for the future, and especially for urgent issues that are not related to the development experience, please report bugs through collaborate or through customer support. This GitHub is only serviced by one team and it focuses on issues related to the development experience.

We are experiencing this problem as well. Please advise.

We just experienced this issue on BC14 Spring Release on Item list where we extended item table, and this error shows during the search function.

Same for me, same error, on docker, on production in online...

We have a fix and expect to HF prod clusters today or tomorrow

Same here!

AFAIK, prod clusters were patched last week. Do you still experience issues on this?

@Kenn

I guess you are talking about BC SaaS, what about the OnPrem versions?

This has been patched also in the on-prem version of the 2019 Wave 1
release (April). Will be available in the next CU

Best,
Kennie

@StijnBt I'd appreciate if you don't mention my ID here.

Hi, please can anyone confirm if this is fixed in one of the v13 CUs?

@AntonInckle the issue has been fixed in the latest CUs of the 2019 Spring release. If you are still encountering this problem on older releases, please open a request for hotfix following the standard process.
