Additional context
Was this working before/when did the issue start occurring?
Is this a problem in the vanilla unmodded game?
Discord username (if different from GitHub):
Tried Over Github Desktop and the normal Zip download
Also tried running the build.py (I don't know what it does, but thought it might help)
You cannot directly download master anymore. Please follow the instructions in the README.
Is there any reason why this was changed? It seems cumbersome to have to download the whole A32NX folder (via the link in the README) every time (instead of being able to get just the changes via github desktop)?
If this is really the new way, maybe a clearer hint in the readme would be necessary since (to my mind) it´s not what a normal github user would expect (unless build info was given).
You can instead also run build.py. You only need to re-run it if new files were added (and maybe if files were deleted, don't know about that). It's output has been added to the .gitignore so it shouldn't interfere with anything.
Oh I see and is the Dev version of the installer identical to the master download?

Because the old way was cumbersome for uss and will not work in the near future, so we decided to switch now.

Yes.
Closing this as further discussion about the installer can happen on discord or in a separate issue if a bug is found.
I'm hoping this decission can be reviewed. I'm missing the simplicity and reliability of a github pull before a flight. If something failed, then I'd check out the latest tag.
At the moment the installer is detected as malware.
I'm a bit confused after reading the Readme + comments here.
I'm hoping this decission can be reviewed.
As I have said, the old method will not work in the near future when we implement our own FBW, AP and systems. We decided to make the switch now so that users do not notice anything different when we introduce C++ code into the codebase. It was alaso causing headaches on our side when managing and merging PRs.

You can check the source code yourself as it is open-source like all of our code. If you do not know programming, you can use the direct download links provided.
Is it possible to use the .zips in the readme? (both stable or dev).
Yes.
Is the installer the only way to go?
As a logical conclusion of the above, no.
Thanks Benjamin. I think part of the frustration was due to another
unrelated bug where the manifests weren’t being generated.
Looking forward to the new C++ implementations.
Keep up the good work!!
